Job Details
Tanzania Bankers Association (TBA) is an Association of banks and financial
institutions licensed by the Bank of Tanzania to carryon banking business in
Tanzania. Currently the Association is comprised of forty banks and financial
institutions.
We are urgently seeking to recruit a young and self-motivated Economist to
conduct research and carry out analysis on issues relating to banking business
to enable the Tanzanian Bankers Association members to make informed decisions.
Summary of Main Responsibilities
Conduct research on identified issues for use by TBA members. Liaise with Bank
of Tanzania, member banks and other relevant bodies on matters relating to
banking and finance.
Review and undertake market trend analysis and ensure the results are shared
with TBA members.
Play an advocacy role with government and other relevant bodies and lobby for
the industry’s interests.
Review, develop and deliver Tanzania Bankers Association’s advocacy and
lobbying agenda.
Attend and participate in forums of relevance to the banking industry. migrate
best practices and advise on future developments of the sector.
Establish Data Centre.
Undertake economic and business intelligence.
Organize dissemination of research products and advocacy events.
Any other duty as assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
Academic Qualification
A Degree in Economics/Statistics. Possession of a postgraduate qualification
will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in
conducting and co-ordinating research preferably in the banking industry.
General Profile and Attributes
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong communication ability in both Kiswahili and English.
Ability to work under pressure.
Self motivated and good team player.
Good planning and organization skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
