Position Description:
Unique Consultancy Company on behalf of our client who is international
construction company are looking for plumbers who can do the following;
Nature of Job:
Plumbers are responsible for installing and repairs of damaged plumbing systems
in residential and industry areas. The job involves dirt and grease since they
can work underground or in mud.
Basic Tasks:
Install plumbing systems particularly water drainage, toilet systems, faucets,
and other plumbing systems.
Repair damage plumbing systems.
Install and connect pipes and drainage systems
Coordinate with clients regarding what instruments to be used.
Read blueprints to know where plumbing systems be installed.
Coordinate with other laborers regarding the installation of plumbing systems
Monitor the functions of the installed instruments.
Check the functions and note observations.
Respond or attend appointment set by clients.
Educational and Training Requirements:
High School graduate or taken 2-year vocational course in Plumbing
Taken short courses in Plumbing is also preferred
Must have at least 3-5 years experience as a plumber
Salary Information:
Local Employment:
Local Plumbers often work as freelance rather than in Industrial companies.
Freelance Plumber rates P300-1000 depending on the type of damage or
installation. Industrial Plumbers receives PhP6-8,000 a month.
Skills and Competency Requirements:
Knowledge and ability to install and connect plumbing systems
Knowledge and ability to repair damaged pipes and other plumbing systems
Knowledge in reading blueprints (for industrial plumbers)
Knowledge in assessing damaged plumbing systems
Knowledge in plumbing systems and its usage
Must have wide knowledge in dealing with different plumbing cases
Can follow instructions
Must know how to communicate and work with other workers
Work Environment:
Plumbers often connect pipes underground; they used to work with dirt like mud
and grease. Their work is quite dangerous and so they are provided with safety
suits and harness when they work under land surface.
Work Hours:
Industrial Plumbers works for longer hours compared to freelancers. Industrial
plumbers can work up to 10 hours while freelance Plumbers works for just 6-8
hours by appointment.
Career Advancement:
Plumbers with other special skills in constructions can shift with other
profession. He can also be promoted as senior Plumber or Head Pipefitter.
