The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) was established by the Act of
Parliament No.20f 1996. The Institute is a semi-autonomous organization
which operates at “arm’s length” under the Ministry of Health and
Social
Welfare. The Institute has various roles which all stem on the main role of
controlling cancer in Tanzania. The Institute is currently looking for
qualified Tanzania citizens to fill the following
vacancies:
Health Laboratory Scientist II PMGSS 9 (1 Post)
Reports to: Laboratory Manager
a) Duties:
i) Carrying out laboratory tests and examinations as well as laboratory
research.
ii) Inspecting and storing laboratory reagents, equipment and chemicals.
iii) Keeping and maintaining laboratory records.
iv) Maintaining list of laboratory equipment in the section.
v) Examining and transferring of laboratory samples for further
examinations.
vi) Perform any other duties as shall be assigned by his/her superior.
b) Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Technology or any related field
from any recognized jnstitution. He/she must be registered with the Health
Laboratory Practitioners Council.

copies of academic certificates, and Birth certificate.
2. Testimonials, Partial transcripts, and results slip will not be accepted.

in the advertisement;
4. Applicants who have foreign certificates should certify the same to the
relevant authority before submitting their applications.
5. Applicants who are currently employed in the Public Service should route
their applications to their current employers.
6. Presentation of forged certificates and other information in the CV
shall call for legal action;
7. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed the date for interview;
8. The applications should reach the office of the undersigned not later
than 14 days from the first appearance date of this advertisement.
