National Forestry Authority (NFA) was established by the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act 2003 to conserve, develop and manage the Central Forest Reserves and to supply quality forestry-related products and services. NFA manages Central Forest Reserves in partnership with Government, private sector and local communities.NFA is seeking to fill the following positions:
POSITION ACCOUNTANT (1 POST)
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Duty Station: Kampala
Salary Scale: 4
Terms of Employment; 3 years contract(Renewable)
Job Summary:
To provide high quality support services to management by analyzing and reporting on key financial data within NFA.
Responsibilities and tasks:
• Supervising the Accounts Assistants in the Financial Support Centres (FSC’s) and providing them with technical support to ensure that proper books of accounts are maintained in each FSC.
• Preparing journals for input to the financial ledger and assisting in generation of management reports
• Ensuring that all revenues due to the NFA are invoiced, collected and accounted for in a timely and appropriate manner
• Reviewing monthly revenue and expenditure accountabilities for completeness and accuracy
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements, management accounts, budgets and cash flow forecast reports.
• Reconciling bank and control accounts periodically
• Preparation and timely submission of all statutory returns (PAVE, NSSF, WHT and VAT)
• Any other relevant duties as Management may from time to time assign.
Job requirement
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• Either Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or any other equivalent discipline; or Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA or CPA
• Over 2 years’ relevant experience gained from large and reputable commercial organizations.
• Demonstrable experience of working in management accounting or financial management
• Experience of Sun System and Vision XL is preferable
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
