Head of Recoveries
The Head of Recoveries is a member of the Operations department based at Head office Kampala. S/he is responsible for ensuring portfolio quality through initiating, implementing and evaluating recovery policies and procedures. The position reports to the Chief Operations Officer but also works closely with the legal manager as appropriate.
Key Result Areas:
• Develop and review recovery procedures and strategies.
• Plan, budget and monitor recovery processes to ensure collection of non-performing loans.
• Liaise and follow up with court bailiffs, auctioneers and lawyers on cases submitted.
• Liaise and provide support to branch managers.
• Ensure compliance to policies and procedures during attachment and disposal of attached collateral.
• Prepare and submit requisite status reports on recovery initiatives to management
Job requirement
Ideal profile
• A business related degree from a recognized institution. A Masters degree in Business Administration or Microfinance will be of an added advantage.
• At least 5 years work experience in a recognized micro finance institution or commercial bank, with at least two year’s experience at Branch Manager Level, or other acceptable supervisory capacity.
• Comprehensive appreciation of the credit underwriting process.
