UNICEF Child Protection Officer Job Vacancy in Uganda

Type of Contract and duration: Fixed Term (One year with possible extension)

Purpose of the post:

Under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Specialist and the overall guidance of the Chief of Field Office, and on the basis of the Uganda Country Office’s Accelerated Child Survival and Development (ACSD) priority programmes and activities, the Child Protection Officer contributes to programme design and implementation in collaboration with other programme areas, monitoring of programme/project activities, Evaluation and analysis of data and progress reporting of the UNICEF child protection programme.

Requirement:
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:
■ University degree in Social Sciences, International Human Law (IHL) or other related field. Advanced Degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
■ Two years of professional work experience at national level in programme planning, management, monitoring and evaluation in child protection/IHL or related field.
■ Fluency in English required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
■ Current knowledge of child protection m brought prone semi-nomadic communities issue’s, policies as well as social programming policies and procedures in international-development cooperation.
■ Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
■ Good communication, Net-working and Training skills
■ Self-awareness and self-regulation and team work.
■ Computer skills, including internet navigation and use of various office applications.
■ Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
