Job Summary:
The Human Resources Officer offers leadership responsibility to fully and

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Technically support the
    implementation of the HR strategy in order to deliver Diageo’s mission,
    goals and business growth
  • Work closely with departments
    to assist line managers to understand and implement HR policies and
    practices
  • Implement employee orientation
    and on boarding process to support new staff settle effectively into their
    roles
  • Actively coordinate the
    recruitment process including developing job descriptions, preparing job
    adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and
    selecting candidates
  • Plan and sometimes deliver
    training programs in line with organizational, functional / team and
    individual needs
  • Analyse all training needs in
    conjunction with departmental managers and the HR Business Partners
  • Support the implementation of
    the performance management cycle to ensure timely and effective process
    implementation, document management and reporting
  • Support the implementation of
    employee benefits and claims
  • Coordinate employee grievance
    and disciplinary process in line with company policy and labour laws
  • Organise welfare services such
    as health and wellbeing programs
  • Support the implementation of
    organizational change processes
  • Significantly coordinate the
    compliance aspects of the HR function including reference checks and code
    of business conduct requirements
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a
    Bachelor’s degree
  • Possess relevant HR
    qualifications certifications
  • At least two to three years HR
    generalist experience
  • Past experience working in a HR
    function in a busy organization
  • Past exposure and experience
    dealing with senior and sometimes challenging individuals
  • Past experience working with
    and knowledge of the Uganda Labor Laws
