Job Summary: The Fleet
Manager will be responsible for managing the overall day to day operations of
Royal Transit Limited fleet and for maintaining the P&L account for the
fleet.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain electronic databases of sales,
registration, inspections and maintenance of fleet management. - Ensure fleet availability to meet all requests by
scheduling, forecasting and surveying current user trends. - Maintain knowledge and utilize all fleet
information and user surveys to forecast new requirements. - Intuitively arrange fleets and fleet operational
staff to provide support and schedule Special Event Planning. - Perform vehicle registration, insurance and
Uganda High Way (UHP) formalities and documentation regarding induction of
new vehicles in existing fleet - Manage routine and ad hoc maintenance, obtain
tags for new vehicles and renew old ones to ensure schedule fleet
management. - Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance
with Traffic and Client rules and regulations. - Maintain and monitor data management system to
organize fleets as per various schedules and requests. - Streamline and monitor fuel purchase system with
assistance of Fuel Vouchers for all vehicles and drivers. - Actively participate in various workshops and
educational programs and maintain knowledge on all industry relevant
publications. - Develop and implement standard operational
standards to maintain vehicles by advocating best practices in industry. - Offer direction to department staff to regulate
budget cycle requirements and control budgeting process. - Plan and prepare annual budget expenditures and
analyze all financial objectives. - Facilitate and implement corrective actions and
capacity building to manage entire fleet to achieve company objectives. - Preparation of major repair expenditure budgets
for approval by senior management - Preparation of work orders, maintenance reports,
preventative maintenance schedules and any other necessary documentation
required in a timely, efficient manner. - Participation on company’s operational safely
committee to ensure that equipment conforms to ail current regulations and
legislation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should come from a construction,
City/Municipal, or maintenance contractor background and have experience
managing a minimum of 60 heavy equipment / trucks. - The applicant should have at least a Diploma in
Mechanical Engineering. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
with a Certificate in fleet Management will be added Advantage. - The job suitor must be well versed with all
aspects of a fleet profit and loss reports, and also be computer literate,
and able to produce detailed management reports. - Possess a sound working knowledge of safety
policies, current legislation and procedures to ensure that requirements
are met - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced problem solving skills
