About UMU:
Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) is a faith-based
private university established in 1993, and owned by the Uganda Episcopal
Conference. UMU received a civil University Charter in 2005 from government, to
legitimize its existence and autonomy. UMU offers full-time, weekend/part time,
and distance-learning courses. Students are drawn from a
private university established in 1993, and owned by the Uganda Episcopal

variety of backgrounds
and countries like Uganda, the rest of Africa and world-wide.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and updating the alumni
database. - Coordinates UMU alumni activities and functions
- Carry out tracer studies about alumni in liaison
with the Directorate of Quality Assurance and the Research Directorate. - Work closely with the alumni leadership
strengthens the Alumni Association by regularly engaging the alumni to
actively participate in UMU activities and support UMU. - Responsible for managing alumni website and
online communications with the alumni. - Creates avenues of interaction between the alumni
and students. - Creates internship or work opportunities to
students and other former students of UMU through linking with alumni.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should be an alumnus/a of UMU,
having either a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Management,
or an MA in Development Studies, or MSc in Development Economics and other
related courses. - A minimum of two years’ experience in a reputable
institution. - Highly capable of working long hours with minimum
supervision. - Possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal
relations skills, - Be an active member of the alumni association,
and should have regularly involved himself/herself in UMU’s
extracurricular activities/ leadership. - S/he should have high degree of confidentiality.
