VSO is an
international development NGO working in the Sectors livelihoods, education and
-health in Uganda.Position: 2 Programme coordinators
Based in Gulu with
travel to other project locations in Uganda.
Reporting to the
Programme Manager the Project Coordinators will effectively steer the progress
of the Youth Development Programme (YDP) EC and DFID Projects and Youth
Employment and Loca
l Governance (YEW) projects under our livelihoods programme
in northern Uganda.
The job involves:
• Managing
implementation of theYDP and YEW projects including development of detailed
work plans, activity implementation, coordination, and reporting.
• Monitoring
progress against targets and provide appropriate and timely updates to key
stakeholders while ensuring appropriate reporting is in place.
• Support in the
effective planning and monitoring of donor grants allocated to the YEW and YDP
projects ensuring VSO’s financial and procurement requirements are adhered to
by the project.
• Compile and
maintain a risks and issues log at project level.
• Effectively line
manage the VSO Project Officers
Qualifications and
Experience:
• A minimum of 3
years relevant experience in livelihood/enterprise development projects with a
Bachelor’s degree in Development studies, Business
Administration/Management,Agriculture or any other relevant area.
• Experience of
co-ordinating, planning and reporting systems; experience of managing project
budgets. Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Experience of
working with, and understanding the challenges faced by young people in
northern Uganda. Desirable:
• Post Graduate
training in Project Management.
• Monitoring and
Evaluation with experience of managing challenging and successful projects will
be of added advantage
• Ability to ride a
motorcycle with valid license
