Nutrition Facilitator
– (8 posts )- Mzimba, Reports to Nutrition Coordinator
Perform any other
related duties as assigned by the supervisor, Participate in review meetings,
M&E activities, CG meetings etc as required, Ensure that promoters and lead
mothers have the necessary tools to facilitate their work, Collaborate with and
support HSAs
in the implementation of nutrition related interventions carried
out at a community level, Collaborate with and support Agricultural Extension
staff the target community to implement nutrition related interventions mainly
on food processing, preservation and preparation and production of nutrient
rich crops for household consumption, Support promoters in the development of
bi-weekly activity plans and reports, Collaborate with the DHO through Health
Centre personnel to implement bi-annual Child Health Days, Ensure program
quality through regular monitoring of activities and ensuring compliance to
standards procedures in health and nutrition, education and Community
Complementary Feeding and Learning Sessions (CCFLS), Facilitating trainings of
promoters and supervise Lead Mother trainings by Promoters, Assist the
Nutrition Coordinator in planning and coordinating activities of care groups
and provide technical assistance to the promoters, Facilitate identification of
promoters, lead mothers and formation of Care Groups, Facilitate community
mobilisation and project awareness creation to ensure effective roll out of
interventions
Computer literacy,
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Good reporting skills, Good
working experience in Community mobilisation, Care Group approach and
participatory rural appraisal, At least a minimum of 3 yrs practical experience
in nutrition dealing with communities, Diploma in Nutrition or Agriculture
