Distribution Centre
Manager – Pepkor Africa
To manage the
country Distribution centre activities towards ensuring efficient and effective
flow of stock through the Distribution Centre, in order to obtain maximum sales
at minimum costs
Inbound – Management
of the inbound processes to ensure delivery of all imported and local
deliveries to the country DC within planned purchase order time lines
Distribution Centre
– Management of the DC function to ensure accurate processing of all stock and
transactions for inflows, storage and processing, as well as timeous stock
outputs. Management of Supervisors performance and development in areas
of Receiving, Inventory, Production and Dispatch
Transport –
Management of the dispatch processes to transport function for the delivery of
all stock, fixtures and fittings from the country DC to stores
Risk Management –
Assisting the Logistics Manager in management of all aspects of risk in the
country DC, including Occupational Health and safety, access control, guarding
and response management, alarms and other monitoring
Continuous
Improvement- Management of 5S and VPM activities
Cost Management-
Management of the local Logistics cost budget applicable to the distribution
centre
Admin support –
Ensuring all Administration functions in Distribution Centre are optimally
managed and all records well maintained
Ensuring that KPI’s
in the key areas of Service, Inventory, People and Cost are achieved
A Commercial Degree
or Diploma would be preferred, 5 yrs experience preferably in Distribution
Centre Management, Imports and Exports and Transport Management, Understanding
of Import and Export processes as well as Customs procedures, Computer literate
(MSOffice, Excel), English language ability, Behavioural competencies:
Leadership style, Coaching, Problem assessment, decision making, Negotiation
and Influencing, Business acumen/commercial sense
