The Centre for
Governance and public Participation – CeGPP
CeGPP was legally
registered in July 2011 and endeavours to entrench the democratic principles
and human rights in Malawi’s democratic principles and human rights in Malawi’s
governa
nce institutions and policy processes, we aim to contribute towards the strengthening
of multiparty democratic system, advocating for broader participation in
governance and policies, promoting an inclusive and vibrant civil society,
raising public awareness on human rights and governance and promoting citizens
demand for quality public service delivery and contributing towards social
transformation
The Centre in
partnership with the Malawi Economic Justice Network (MEJN), centre for Human
Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) is implementing a social accountability
project and wishes to recruit a qualified and experienced person to fill the
position of Capacity Building Coordinator tenable in Lilongwe
Capacity Building
Coordinator
Will be required to
accomplish the following
Manage and oversee
project design and delivery for all capacity building related activities,
Provide technical assistance in activity planning for the project’s capacity
development strategy, Participate in project monitoring, evaluating and
periodic reporting related to capacity building, Serve as liaison to other
civil society organisations, Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in all
aspects of project planning, monitoring and implementation for all capacity
building activities, Work closely with other implementing partners to ensure
adequate capacity is built in various areas of the project, develop both work
plans and annual workplan for the project and organisation, Prepare project
progress and financial reports in line with the donor requirements, Supervise
support staff and conduct performance appraisal, Assist in resource
mobilisation and fundraising through proposal, Support the development of the
organisation and its rebranding efforts, Organise and attend board meetings in
the interim until the Director is recruited
Minimum of Degree in
Political Science, Social Science, Law or Development Studies acquired from
reputable universities, A minimum of 4 yrs continuous experience working in an
NGO setting especially those dealing with human rights awareness, lobbying and
advocacy and social accountability, Prior experience in building working
relationships and partner capacity building, including working with govt
depts., Extensive experience in fundraising from diverse donors and foundations
in a very competitive environment, Ability to communicate efficiently and
effectively both verbally and in writing, Multi tasking skills and meeting
deadlines
