VACANCY: EXECUTIVE COURT REPORTER – D4
Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens of Botswana to apply
for the above post in the Administration of Justice. The positions are tenable
in Gaborone High Court (2), Lobatse High Court (2), Francistown High Court (2),
Broadhurst Magistrate Court (2), Village
Magistrate Court (2), Lobatse
Magistrate Court (2), Selebi-Phikwe Magistrate Court (2), Francistown
Magistrate Court (2), Palapye Magistrate Court (2), Maun Magistrate Court (2)
and Molepolole Magistrate Court.
Salary Scale: D4 (P 165 300.00 – P 182 496.00) per annum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Cambridge Certificate/BGCSE
plus 2 years Reporters’
Diploma Course or National Diploma in Secretarial Studies or related field.
Must have a minimum Steno speed of 160/wpm or minimum speed in short hand of 80
wpm.
EXPERIENCE:A minimum of nine (9) years experience in this field.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• Take verbatim proceedings of court in short hand
• Transcribe proceedings from short hand into ordinary characters
• Diarizes postponements of cases and draws the judges attention to reserved
judgements
• Informs Attorneys, Prison Officials and all interested parties of dates of
hearing and postponements
• Provides research services
• Undertakes any other related duties as may be required to meet the exigencies
of the services
