Relationship
Management and Marketing
- Maintain
and grow customer relationships and identify opportunities in those
relationships for ABC Botswana and the wider Group and to work on those
opportunities to their successful conclusion - Identify
business requirements in respect of the product and solution requirements
needed to satisfy customer needs and requirements - Perform
regular customer visits and keep abreast with developments in various
markets and industries that customers operate in - Market
the Bank’s products which include short term loans, cash advances, bankers
acceptances, offshore facilities, guarantees, trade finance services, call
and term deposit
Financial
Performance
- Achieve
utilization levels in line with budget - Attain
income levels in line with budget
Credit
Management
- Monitor
account performance and facility utilization and produce weekly &
monthly reports on excesses and arrears on customer accounts - Perform
up to date financial analysis on customer businesses and do regular
assessments of business and management risk on customers.Adhere to the
Bank’s Credit Policy Framework on all customer accounts - Supervise
credit analysts to ensure turnaround time on credit analysis is met - Prepare
credit appraisals for submission to various committees and ensure
conclusion of credible deals
Strategy
Development
- Participate
actively in business development meetings by updating business on new
developments regarding challenges, and opportunities existing in our
business - Generate
proposals to increase the value of the Corporate and Treasury portfolio
through the identification of new products, potential alliances and
leveraging off Group product and service capabilities
Knowledge
and Skills required
- In
depth understanding of the Group’s short, medium and long term strategies - A detailed
understanding of Group goals and objectives and the impact that these will
have on the Bank’s key functions - Comprehensive
understanding of risk policies and country risk issues - Comprehensive
understanding of governance and controls within the Group as they relate
to Corporate business development and customer management - Detailed
understanding of the full range of ABC’s products and services including
structured finance and syndications - Comprehensive
knowledge of treasury products - Good
knowledge of cross border financing - Detailed
knowledge of customer segmentation and service principals - An
appreciation of technology development - Good
understanding of marketing principles and practices - Detailed
knowledge of ABC people policies and procedures - Good knowledge
of commercial and competitor environment in each country - Good
understanding of relevant African industries - Strong
deal closure abilities
Requirements
- Basic
qualifications: Institute Of Bankers or equivalent - Essential
qualifications: First Degree - Preferred
qualifications: Post graduate qualification - Minimum
5 years banking experience required - Corporate
customer facing experience
