Requirements

Botswana requires highly experienced individuals with solid Corporate &
Investment Banking (CIB) know-how coupled with strong relationship building
proficiency and ability to lead successful teams for the Head CIB Botswana
role:

Head CIB is a
critical and executive role that articulates and sets the strategic direction
and business objectives (client-centric approach) for Botswana in line with Sub
Regional CIB & Sub Regional Product objectives.

Role responsibility
include building and maintaining a strong CIB brand and reputation at a country
level as aligned to Standard Bank Group and CIB Brand. The incumbent will be
the in-country leader of the CIB employee base and is expected to drive “One
CIB Culture”. The candidate will ensure delivery of Country CIB revenues and
net earnings through provision of an appropriate range of banking products (Transactional
Product and Services, Investment Banking, Global Markets Products and Investor
Services) to the existing and targeted client base, working with and through
the Client Coverage Team.

The candidate will
need to contribute to the overall Bank’s financial performance by understanding
and acting on opportunities for cost efficiencies, and cooperation with other
areas such as Personal and Business Banking (PBB), Wealth, Finance and Risk
Management. The incumbent is expected to fulfill a governance role in serving
as a member of key in-country management committees such as Bank Executive team
(EXCO), Credit Committee, ALCO, New Product Committee, Risk Committee and
Business Approval Committee.

Head CIB is a key
member of the Bank Executive Management team and reports directly to the Bank
CE and works closely with the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

• Relevant
  Business, Accounting or Financial Degree
• MBA
  will be an added advantage
• Leadership
  training from a reputable institution

Experience

• Strong
  business acumen, competent in risk & financial management with minimum
  15 years of extensive & relevant experience within Banking or
  Financial fraternity of which at least 10 years should be in an Executive
  or Senior leadership role within the Banking industry
• Demonstrable
  and advanced knowledge of Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and real
  transaction experience from a global banking institution
• Prior
  Client Coverage hands – on experience at Senior Level
• Evident
  and prior experience in leading a high performance team
