Job Summary
To manage operational intelligence and investigation functions for the Mine
Requirements
Minimum
Requirements
- Degree
in a security related field or a technical discipline (Mining,
Engineering, Geology or Project management) - 5 years
post graduate experience in the field of intelligence and risk management,
2 of which should have been at supervisory level - Supervisory

- Analyses
the sectional area’s financial needs in order to develop a budget and
ensure sufficient financial resources to meet business needs. - Manages
and controls allocated funds and operates within approved parameters - Develops
and manages intelligence/investigation plans or activities to ensure
effective information collection, analysis and investigation to protect
company assets as well as disrupt illicit diamond trafficking - Manages
the access process into the Mines in accordance with the Precious and
Semi-Precious Stones Act (screening and vetting for all employees and contractors) - Maintains
an intelligence management system and database to ensure integrity through
validation techniques in accordance with best practice principles and
group standards - Develops
and maintains internal and external networks and contacts, e.g. LEA, local
communities, for information gathering to ensure an effective
investigation process and optimal asset protection - Conducts
regular audits on system operation, utilization and credibility, and
advises weaknesses to management accordingly - Develops
and reviews sectional procedures to ensure that security and legislative
requirements are met - Implements
risk management processes and asset protection controls to reduce risks
and limit exposure to liability - Implements
an effective security surveillance model in line with identified risks - Conducts
on-going risk and trend analysis, and asset protection controls and takes
appropriate action to maximize protection of assets and product - Implements
Security Emergency Response Plans, Crisis Response Plans and Disaster
Recovery Plans - Coordinates
the deployment of intelligence systems to minimize risks, evaluates the
effectiveness and efficiencies to ensure optimal utilization in accordance
with approved protocols - Manages
the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance
principles/ requirements in area of responsibility - Initiates,
monitors and controls short term sectional projects to ensure attainment
of desired results. - Manages
and coordinates the implementation of safety, health and environmental
programme in areas of responsibility - Implements
knowledge management principles through application of tools and
methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance. - Identifies
and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and
sustain business performance. - Establishes
and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders and
partners to ensure achievements of business objectives.
