VACANCY: ASSISTANT LEGAL INVESTIGATOR

of the Ombudsman, Gaborone.
Salary: C1/2 P108 468 – P 160 704 per annum

BENEFITS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Botswana or recognized university

EXPERIENCE:
•Direct entry

Main Purpose of Job:
To investigate less complex cases/complaints of maladministration and violation
of human rights

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
•Investigates less complex cases of maladministration & human rights
violations
•Consults complaints and makes appropriate responses
•Attends and examines witnesses
•Conducts public education awareness campaigns on the role and functions of the
Ombudsman
•Recommends remedial action to Ministries/Departments to rectify injustice
arising from maladministration.
•Directs any person to furnish information either orally, in writing, on
affidavit, on oath, and/or directs any person to produce any document in
his/her possession or control which has a bearing on the matter being
investigated.
•Recommends closure of files
•Recommends issuance of subpoena to Principal Legal Investigator
