Reporting
to the General Manager, the incumbent will oversee the metallurgical and
engineering performance of the processing plant, laboratory and tailings dam in
terms of operating efficiency and recovery.

KEY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Safe
operation of the processing plant, laboratory and tailings dam - Supervise
and mentor the Process Manager and Engineering Manager as well as the
Laboratory Manager. - Supervise,
co-ordinate and control all metallurgical research operations. - Supervise
gold room staff operations and control of the gold accounting and
dispatch. - Provide
technical guidance to operational personnel - Optimize
metallurgical performance - Ensure
that metallurgical records are maintained in the plant and gold room - Plan
and enforce process plant technical training - Plan
manning levels to meet processing requirements - Allocate
and supervise technical research projects - Plant
operating budget maintenance/ control - Assist
with the preparation of the mine budget - Review
reports, calculations, and technical data - Pursue
new methods and practices in related fields to improve performance - Liaise
with processing and engineering staff to maintain a healthy working
relationship - Ensure
safety guidelines are adhered to - Perform
public relations functions when required
Possession
of the following will be an added advantage:

- Experience
with Refractory ore bodies - Experience
in process design and engineering - Cyanide
detoxification plant - Heap
leach technology - Screening
of LG stockpile
Requirements
The
successful candidate will also have skills and knowledge to improve and
maintain performance in terms of safety, production results and cost control
initiatives. A degree or Higher National Diploma in Metallurgy, Mineral
Processing Engineering or Chemical Engineering is required, and at least 15 years
experience in gold processing operations which would include Crushing,
Grinding, CIL, Thickening, Elution, Gold Room and Tailings dam management.
