Ongwanada offers a wide range of individualized services and community supports to approximately 600 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Kingston and eastern Ontario.
Psychologist

An individual is needed who is interested in using their clinical skills in a variety of ways (service, training, research) related to the many initiatives and opportunities at Ongwanada. As a member of the Psychological Services department, responsibilities will include:
1) providing a broad range of psychological services to persons with developmental disabilities, including those with dual diagnosis and challenging behaviour
2) participating in the initiatives of the Community Network of Specialized Care Eastern Region(videoconferencing, treatment home, consultation, French language services) with opportunities for program evaluation
3) participating in the supervising and training of graduate clinical psychology students on practicum and internship placements and diploma and degree behavioural science students
4) being a contributing member of the Psychological Services department at Ongwanada and clinical supervisor faculty in the Clinical Psychology Program, Queen’s University
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current registration as a Psychologist in the province of Ontario
• Knowledge of legislation and Standards of Practice
• Experience in providing psychological services to persons with developmental disabilities (including those people with dual diagnosis/challenging behaviour), their families and care providers is essential.
• Experience in supervision of both students and non-registered staff is preferred.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Sound judgement, counselling, supervisory, teaching and organization skills.
• Comfortable in learning new technologies with mastery of existing technologies.
• Willingness to apply for appointment as a Clinical Supervisor in the Department of Psychology, Queen’s University
• Valid Class G drivers licence, access to own vehicle
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job and attend work on a regular basis
• Bilingual in French and English an asset.

Salary: Minimum $75,004 – Maximum $95,588 annually – commensurate with experience
