Salary(s): SO1-2 $18.89 – $24.46 per hour
Qualifications:
Related education, training or experience in law enforcement or a similar field is preferred. General knowledge/experience of the Court system, related processes and procedures would also be an asset. The ability to work extended and flexible hours involving scheduled and short notice call-ins is required. Demonstrated communication abilities including report writing experience, interpersonal skills, problem solving, organizational skills and a strong commitment to teamwork are essential. Demonstrated experience/ability to work under minimal supervision and handle stress and/or the unexpected effectively and responsibly. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals involved in the Justice system is essential. Ability to travel within Manitoba is necessary.
Other requirements include a valid Class 4 Driver’s License, First Aid and CPR certificates, medical fitness and a current Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Records Check. All potential recruits may be subject to a background investigation prior to employment.
Duties:
Responsible for escorting, guarding, transporting and maintaining control of persons in custody. Maintains order, security and decorum in all courts as required. Assists in the enforcement of Writs and court orders, including seizures and evictions, delivers various court documents and apprehends persons under bench warrants.
