The vacancy is for a Sales Account Manager developing new business selling networking and connectivity equipment. Full training in the product line will be given but a reasonable knowledge of IT infrastructures and networking will be highly advantageous. Some experience in a sales or customer-facing role will be useful but not essential.
Our target market is very varied but is almost entirely business to business rather than consumer related and includes the sale of the following product lines:
• Enterprise level routers and VPN infrastructure, particularly mobile networks (3G etc).
• Fibre optic networking, media converters and switches.
• Serial communications and serial over IP.
• Industrial connectivity including protocol conversion and remote access.
• Console management and computer control equipment
The primary function of this role is to help us proactively develop new business rather than just process incoming orders.
It involves direct contact with customers and prospective customers by all methods of communication including telesales with an element of cold-calling but this is not a call-centre position.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated, a good communicator, technically proficient and able to learn about new technologies. You will work closely with other members of staff and you will be expected to be flexible in the functions you take on. The company is small but busy and communication and self-discipline are the keys to success.
