Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, formerly the Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene, is a 312-bed psychiatric hospital situated on Georgian Bay approximately 150 km north of Toronto.
Waypoint Centre’s Regional Division (AAP, RFSP, GSP, BDDP, PSRP) is now recruiting for dedicated individuals to provide psychiatric nursing care and physical assessment and related care required to patients within specialized inter-professional clinical programs.

• Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PSRP)
Qualifications: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, less qualified candidates may be considered on an underfill basis;
knowledge of:
medical and psychiatric nursing theory and practice; various resources available to meet patient needs
medication practices, psychiatric medications, side effects, and current treatment modalities
leadership principles
relevant sections of legislation, i.e.: Mental Health Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, Criminal Code of Canada and professional standards
general safety and security; emergency patient care procedures
computer software packages to input data for a variety of facility wide tools.
Position also requires interpersonal, verbal and written, leadership, analytical and organizational skills as well as coordination and dexterity and the physical ability and skill to perform life saving nursing interventions, i.e.: cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
