The position is responsibilities for providing assistance with the maintenance of the NVCA water treatment
system, and enforcing Section 29 of the Conservation Authorities Act as a certified Provincial Offences Officer. Other responsibilities include performing light repairs of NVCA mechanical and non-mechanical equipment. Grass cutting, tree planting, and security of NVCA property is an integral requirement of this position.
Typically, the incumbent has a diploma in facilities management; ground maintenance, parks and recreation or related field, with 2 years experience. Small Water Works Certification, Provincial Offences Officer designation and a Forestry Exterminator Class Pesticide license would be a valued asset.
You must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be proficient in multi-tasking, while working safely, effectively with minimal supervision. You must be able to obtain a clear police records check and have a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence.
The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority’s watershed is one of the fastest growing in Ontario and we are committed to providing a high quality of service to our clients. Salary range is (2011) $44,025 – $53,471, 35/hr. week, and is currently under review.
