Friends of the Rouge Watershed Production Tree Planter Jobs Vacancies in Ontario

Opportunity: Plant thousands of trees and shrubs to restore habitat in Rouge (National) Park
Work Period: start Monday April 2 (subject to weather)
end May 5 or May 12 (5 or 6 week options)

Planting 6 Days a Week, Monday to Saturday
Planters must be available from 7 am – 5 pm M-F and
8am — 2 pm Saturday

Candidate Qualities:
• High Quality and High Endurance Outdoor Worker
• 2+ Years of production tree planting experience with mixed bags preferred
• Ability to work safely, happily and cooperatively within a team and independently
• Enjoy working outside in all weather conditions (rain or shine, cold or heat)
• Ability to maintain high planting quality and plant 500 large bare root (BR) trees per 10 hr day

Candidate Screening Session: March 19 or 20, 2012

The top candidates will be invited to attend a screening session at
2259 Meadowvale Road, Scarborough, north of the Toronto Zoo
Trees: 2+1 to 2+3 Bare Root pine, spruce and cedar, and container, plug and Bare Root shrubs & hardwoods

Pay: $10.25 per hour, plus 5 to 9 cents per tree (subject to tree size and planting review)
9 to 10 hours per day, up to six days per week, without overtime
