ethicalDeal was born out of a mission of making green mainstream. Our flash sales introduce people to greener choices for everyday living. In our first year of business we were voted as one of the top startups to
watch by Fast Company and were the recipient of the Better Business Bureau Award for Advancing Marketplace Trust and Innovation. Our social commerce platform has helped over 750 green businesses acquire new customers and build their brand in the eco space. We are growing quickly and are profitable.
This year, we want to take it to the next level by developing some game changing features that will re-invent how green brands bring new products to market and move excess inventory. We’re also excited to improve the user experience by diving deeper into social, mobile, and personalization themes.
We are located in the Gastown district in downtown Vancouver, close to local start up events. We’re focused on achieving goals rather than just putting in the hours.

You’ll work closely with the Founder/CEO on product development and strategy. You will drive technical decisions, problem solving and be coding on a daily basis. Qualifications:
You …
• have 5+ years web based product development and deployment
• a proven track record shipping high quality code with minimal supervision
• deep knowledge of PHP and experience working with an MVC framework (preferably
cakePHP)
• are proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery)
• are proficient in 3rd party APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc)* have a mastery of version control systems (Git)
• have experience with relational databases and MySQL queries
• have linux system administration experience (shell, crontab)
• can manage deployments to and functional testing on staging and production servers
• can do full unit and integration testing of code
• can analyze and troubleshoot technical problems and develop creative solutions
