in identifying solutions and taking action.
Overview: To support the engagement of volunteers in Evergreen
programs, events and operati
ons. Assist in a variety of support
functions to help ensure the successful operations of Evergreen’s
growing volunteer engagement program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and support recruitment, promotion and outreach about
volunteer opportunities at Evergreen with a focus outreach to diverse
populations
• Act as a first point of contact for inquiries about volunteering;
support the matching and screening of prospective volunteers; provide
excellent customer service to both volunteers and staff
• Provide support for the development and implementation of resources,
strategies and sessions for volunteer orientation & training and
recognition
• Ensure that accurate records for volunteers are kept
• Provide administrative support to the Senior Manager, Volunteer
Engagement and the whole volunteer engagement team; support the
National volunteer engagement strategy
• Special projects as time is available (eg. development of materials,
contributions to communications, new role development, etc.)

Guidelines:
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of previous experience coordinating volunteers;
post-secondary education and/or 3 years of work experience (or some
combination thereof);
• Solid people-relations skills;
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities essential;
detail oriented
• Strong computer skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Previous experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar database a definite asset
Working conditions:
• Office environment
• 6 Month Contract
• minimum 24 hours per week, July – Dec, days of week TBD; possible extension
• Weekends and evenings will be required for some events
