The Outreach/Events Coordinator is a summer position running until Aug
30, 2014. The position will work closely with our volunteers, members
and partners in the Niagara Region.

Because of Canada Summer Jobs requirements, individuals must:
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
• have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic
year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next
academic year;
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee
protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee
Protection Act; and,
• be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant
provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

Duties include:
• Assisting with greening project education
• Assist with all facets of a number of projects
• Develop draft reports, press releases, create and execute business
presentations, including communications with staff, volunteers and the
community through various media
• Liaise with community participants representing GREENING NIAGARA
• Develop and coordinate volunteers and member committees to execute
multiple events.
• Assist with resource development
• Occasional travel to project sites
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Occasional weekend events
• Standard informal office attire when in office

Qualifications:
• Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with
others in team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good time management and organization skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, working with current and potential
funders, community groups and people of all skills, abilities
(physical and developmental)
• Proficiency MS Word, Excel and other windows applications
• Access to vehicle or transportation an asset
