Position: Development Coordinator

Coordinator to work with the Board of Directors to oversee th

e day-to-day
operations, execute the fundraising strategy, and provide program support.

Fundraising – 45% of time
• Strengthen relationships with the existing donor base
• Actively expand a large sustained base of monthly individual donors
• Oversee database entry and gift processing
• Under the direction of the Board of Directors, implement additional
revenue-generation strategies

Program Implementation – 35% of time
• Recruit tour members to participate on short and long term tours
• Implement the organization’s marketing plan
• Ensure quality of experience for tour members, audience members and community
partners
• Oversee development, delivery, and outreach of short and long term tours with
seasonal program coordinators
• Oversee training of tour members to be successful in their roles

Operations – 20% of time
• Effectively represent the Otesha brand by communicating the organization’s
vision, values, mission and goals
• Coordinate annual report writing with the Board of Directors
• Report on budget and day-to-day operations to the Board of Directors
• Oversee training of staff members

Qualifications

Required
• 2-5 years experience in the for-profit or not-for-profit sectors
• Strong demonstrated skills in building personal relationships through public
speaking, managing social media, and outreach to alumni
• Experience with building an individual donor base and non-profit fundraising
• Experience working with budgets

Preferred
• Experience coordinating and supervising others
• Experience using Salesforce
• Knowledge of sustainability and social justice issues
• Bilingualism (English and French)

organization.

Reports to: Board of Directors
Length of Term: 1 year full-time (35 hrs/week) contract with possibility of
extension
Location: Ottawa (preferred), but negotiable
Salary: $36,000, with anticipated annual raise contingent on performance
Start date: August 18th, 2014
