On the forefront of the world’s transition to a circular economy Zero
Waste Canada is proud to host the Zero Waste International Alliance
Conference in Nanaimo BC Canada from October 2nd-4th, 2014.
This multi-day and multi-location conference and dialogue will make
the connection between design and life cycle, procurement and
footprint, policy and performance and will range from biological and
technical ingredients and management, to product, parts and material
recovery strategies. Topics must refer to scale; international,
national or regional scope.
To ensure that #ZWIA14 provides a diverse speakers roster we are
excited to open the Call for Papers and Proposals.
Who will be attending?
• Problem solvers specializing in resource and material management
from around the globe
• Elected Officials and Policy Developers, Sustainability Coordinators
and Consultants, Waste and Resource Managers, Trade Associations and
Non Profit Organizations, Small to Large Business, Students, Citizens
Papers/Posters/InfoGraphics
Completed submissions will be reviewed by the #ZWIA14 Planning
Committee and the chosen pieces will be published in Zero Waste
Canada’s quarterly Journal “Getting to Zero”, Conference Edition.
• Submissions must be between 500-2000 words.
• Due date is September 1st 2014

Proposals
Submissions for proposed talks can include any of the following:
• “Keynote” presentations (mostly plenary sessions)
• “Skill Share” presentations (approximately 15 minutes)
• “Rapid fire emerging technology” presentations (approximately 7 minutes)
• “Seminar” presentations (approximately 45-60 minutes)
• Due date is July 1st 2014
