Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) is looking for a motivated
individual to continue to strengthen GRHC’s relationships with its
corporate members & partners across North America. Annually we host
CitiesAlive, North America’s only green roof & living wall conference.
The primary responsibilities for this position will be fundraising,
co-ordination and marketing of CitiesAlive and fundraising for
additional GRHC conferences.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
• Strengthen GRHC’s relationship with its corporate members through
outreach activities related to the conferences e.g. engaging them as
sponsors, exhibitors, and advertisers in the Living Architecture
Monitor etc.
• Establish contact with key corporate members and potential sponsors
for all conferences and develop and implement fundraising strategies
plan.
• Develop the long-term and annual strategic marketing plan and
sponsorship plan for the Cities Alive Conferences and facilitate the
implementation.
• Create sponsorship & exhibitor packages and marketing materials for
conference promotion and assist with trade show oversight.
• Source contact, coordinate work with a Local Host community to
accomplish regional outreach and engagement.
• Travel to and attend CitiesAlive conferences.
• Assist with logistics as required.
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, communications and/or
advertising;
• 5+ years of experience in the fundraising, development, marketing
and execution of programs and campaigns, preferably in the non-profit
field;
• Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in event
marketing or a similar discipline;
• Proven experience in developing and implementing marketing plans,
including objectives, strategies and tactics;
• Proven track record in developing and executing fundraising and
awareness events;
• Strong experience in e-marketing and social media;
• Professionalism in working with a variety of media and stakeholders
of diverse interests and backgrounds;
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference;
• Strong administrative, organizational and planning skills;
• Capacity to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a team
environment;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Sustainability or environmental background preferred but not required.
Interviews begin mid-July, with the Start Date September 2, 2014 in
our dowtown Toronto office.
