IT Specialist – Network & Server Administrator
Toronto, ON
Reporting to the Manager, IT, the IT Specialist –
Network and Server Administrator, will provide subject matter expertise on
network, sever and hardware to support our internal team. Working with internal
and external stakeholders, the ideal candidate will have past experience in
managing

vendor relationships and providing solutions to best suit the
organization. This position is based in Toronto, Ontario.

Key Areas of Accountability and Duties:

Manage Network/Server/Hardware vendors;
Identify client requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential
and actual clients and transmit needs to the vendor;
Troubleshoot and diagnose network errors or failures; maintain and configure
networking hardware;
Perform upgrades to network equipment as necessary;
Be available after hours for support requests for national time zones;
Prepare reference for users by writing operating instructions;
Collaborate with vendors (Network/Server/Hardware);
Maintain documentation of routine maintenance, systems configuration,
applications, and technical reference material, and perform general systems
administration and security functions;
Optimize and improve processes and efficiencies;
Support Regional Operations and Corporate projects (Network/Server/Hardware);
Collect data by identifying sources of information; designing survey and
collection methods.
Why you will succeed? You bring with you:
Post-secondary education in computer sciences or
networking
Minimum 5 years computer networking experience or related field
Experience managing Windows server environment, Exchange, Active Directory
Experience in configuring and deploying network devices
Ability to support VOIP network
Experience managing a VPN
Capability in managing web servers (Apache web server, SSL, wordpress, database)
Ability to work with external suppliers
IT Troubleshooting
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent organization and prioritization skills
Knowledge of industry trends
Bilingual, English and French is considered an asset;
