The Finance
Assistant is a full-time position (35 hours a week), reporting to the Finance
Officer.
Summary of Duties:
– Preparation of
weekly payroll and bi-weekly payroll
– Posting payroll journal entries and calculating benefit
– Responsible for CRA payroll remittance and payroll request (i.e. ROE etc)
– CAEA, IATSE and other union and association billing with RRSP deduction
– Weekly preparation of accounts payable cheques for authorized signatures
– Inputting, pro
cessing, and monitoring invoices and other payment requisitions
– Balance and journal entries of daily box office reports
– Review daily bar reports, bar charge back reports
– Monthly bar inventory
– Other duties as directed by the Finance Officer and/or General Manager
Qualifications:
– Accuracy, highly
organized and strong attention to details.
– An accounting certificate or diploma, and/or CGA student at level 2 or level
3
– 2 years experience in accounting with AP and Payroll is essential
– Strong knowledge of Excel
– Experience with Sage 50 (Simply Accounting)
– Effective communication skills both verbal and written
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
– Proven initiative and problem-solving ability
– A passion for the arts and experience in not-for-profit organizations are
assets.

Pay rate is $15/hr
