Our client a large
Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry is currently looking for a Systems
Support Technician/IT Technician


Scope of Position:

Reporting to the
Systems Administrator, the Systems Support Technician is responsible for
maintaining the NT Local Area Network, Workstations, Station Error proofing,
Wide Area Network and all On Line Broadcast printers that operate in the
Oakville facility.


Position Summary:

  • Monitor,
    support, troubleshoot and maintain all Windows NT v40/2000/2003 Servers,
    Windows 98/2000/XP Workstations and Error Proofing Workstations to keep
    them up and running.
  • Monitor,
    support, troubleshoot and maintain operation the LAN and required hardware
    equipment (Patch Panels, UPS Server, Routers, Terminal Servers, Hubs,
    Switches). Installation of software/hardware on workstation PC’s connected
    to the network
  • Monitor,
    implement, configure, setup, troubleshoot and PM all Production Floor
    Devices and hardware equipment (Broadcast Printers, Handheld Scanners,
    PC’s, VCVS Terminals, Wedges, UPS, Remote Rack Structures) and installing
    the software/hardware on the plant floor and configuring the device for
    production use.
  • Monitor,
    implement, configure, setup, troubleshoot and PM Office Equipment (Fax
    Machines, Photocopiers, Network Printers, Office Scanners, Digital Camera,
    UPS, Rack Structures).
  • Providing
    technical support and to all users for Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows
    98/2000/XP Workstations, MS Office 2000/XP, Error Proofing Systems,
    Solomon IV, Q-pulse, E-time software and clocks, E-mail, and Internet etc.
  • Responding
    to all systems needs including security, access control, phone systems and
    voice mail, error proofing systems, maintenance on computers and printers
    as well as upgrades.
  • Being
    on call 7/24 to assist in all urgent IT related situations.
  • Maintain
    daily communications to Systems Administrator and other staff on all
    current issues.
  • Monitor,
    support and maintain Error Proofing systems in all locations
  • Troubleshooting
    of production critical fixtures, components etc. that is required to
    ensure 100% defect free product to customer
  • Monitor,
    support and maintain programming and updating of all electronic tooling
    systems (Atlas Copco, Cleco etc) ensuring that information and data is
    being gathered and is accurate to specifications
  • Available
    as a resource to PLC programmers & technical suppliers involved in
    system upgrades and maintenance
  • Monitor
    all tooling and data feeds from work stations to data bases, maintaining
    as required
  • Monitor
    and auditing of all electronic tooling to ensure correct tolerances and
    customer specifications are being withheld
  • Monitor,
    support and maintain error proofing component replacements such as
    sensors, poke yokes, step pads, light curtains etc. Work with outside
    vendors (where applicable) to ensure system remains intact and fully
    operational


Criteria:

Education:

  • Post
    Secondary Education
  • University
    degree and/or community college diploma in Computer Systems/ Networking
    Applications
  • Preference
    given to those with Pinpoint Experience


Experience: 1-3 years hands-on computer systems/networking experience in a
just-in-time manufacturing environment.

Shift: Monday to
Friday from 6:30am-5pm for 2 weeks and 5pm-3:30am for 2 weeks the shifts
continuously rotate

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00
/ hr

Contract position
until December 2014.
