With multiple operations across the NSW & QLD our client offers inspiring career development opportunities. The company is renowned for looking after staff and offers a friendly and supportive working environment. We are currently seeking applications from Geotechnical Engineers for an underground coal project in the Bowen Basin region of QLD.
As the Geotechnical Engineer you will be reporting to the Technical Services Manager and you will be responsible for ensuring underground strata control. Your specific duties and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
• Developing strata management plans
• Conducting geotechnical risk assessments / roof monitoring
• Reviewing & designing roof support patterns
• Ensuring compliance with relevant company and legislative requirements
The successful applicant will be a degree qualified professional with at least 3 years experience in a similar role. The successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate:
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to engage and manage consultants as required
• Sound computer skills and familiarity with relevant software
• A commitment to providing a safe working environment at all times
