OVERVIEW:
This summer a partnership between CHEP Good Food Inc. & The
Saskatoon Food Council is looking to hire 5 summer interns who will
help build an urban garden site in Saskatoon. Interns will gain
valuable experience in growing food, marketing their own produce,
learning about local food production, and working well as a team. Part
of the focus for this project will be around issues related to
indigenous food security.
A Successful Candidate will:
Ideal candidates are motivated learners who work well as part of a
team and are looking for a chance to develop their food growing skills
in an urban environment. Also:
• No previous gardening/farming skills are necessary.
• Must be able to commit to the full growing season, which runs from
May 11th until the end of August 2015.
• Applicants must be between the ages of 16-30.
• Some evening and weekend will be required.
• Must have access to reliable transportation to and from the worksite daily.
• Preference will be given to applicants who are of Aboriginal
ancestry. (Please self identify in your application).
