Overall Mandate of the Role

To partner with the Founder and Board to run the business – with a personal
focus on raising the organization’s profile in Canada’s construction industry
and generating profitable sales of the company’s products and services

About the Company

Smart Green Technologies Inc. (SGT) is based on breakthrough agricultural
research performed at the University of Guelph. We are a full service urban
greening company located in the heart of Southern Ontario. With specialties in
vegetative roofing, living walls, urban agriculture, rain gardens and remote
monitoring, our mission is to bring vegetation to as many horizontal and
vertical surfaces in our urban environments as possible.

Our lightweight patented Substrate Block system, loose soil substrates, and
UltraLite roll out pre-vegetated mats make installing a green roof easier, less
costly, and of unparalleled quality.

We are engineers, we are scientists, we are horticulturists, and we are
roofers.

Key Results of the Role
• SGT involved in a significant proportion of the green roof bids in the GTA
• Generate Sales of green roofs installations for spring, summer and fall of
2016
• Sales of excess plant material to the North American market
• The provision of high quality market intelligence to the Management Team.
• Contributions to critical company decisions in the area of planning,
management, financial forecasts, pricing, warranties, incremental services,
national and international expansion.

Sales and Marketing Accountabilities
• Identify, and then develop relationships with the individuals and
organizations who drive the GTA green roof market.
• Research into SGT competitors
• Generation of leads through electronic and personal contact
• Developing and delivering sales presentations
• Input to company marketing materials and web site
• Input into product related and strategic issues
• Planning and executing trade shows
• Managing the client relationship throughout the install

Other Accountabilities
• Participate in planning meetings and contribute to overall company plans
• Collaborate with CEO on financial forecasts

Key Skills Knowledge and Competencies
• A minimum 5 year track record successfully selling a technical product to a
technically oriented client.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Skillful presentation creator and deliverer.
• Works independently while staying committed to keeping the team up to date
and involved.

Location

You will be based in or near Toronto and must have a car in order to travel to
customer meetings and to occasional meetings at our farm in Prince Edward
County.

Summary

layers of the GTA green roof world; to develop the relationships we need; and
to successfully convince our prospects that an SGT roof is their best choice.
