engagement, transparency and accountability. We currently have an opening for
an enthusiastic, s
elf-motivated person to assist our Business Development
Manager in generating and qualifying leads for our cutting-edge, online budget
simulator. Used by over 50 cities to consult with their residents on their
city’s budget our simulator plays an important role in promoting financial
transparency and community engagement.
Key
responsibilities:
In terms of
pre-sales support, you will work with our Business Development Manager to
identify and qualify leads, and inform management of those that require
follow-up.
Tasks:
- Identify
possible leads for in predetermined markets
- Engage
with existing and new leads via phone and email and qualify prospects
using predetermined criteria
- Identify
appropriate contacts within municipal governments
- Working
with management, actively manage leads and opportunities in CRM
- Book
demos / webinars with senior staff
- Book
sales calls with senior staff
- Supply
management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems,
interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and
services.
- Working
with management, actively manage leads and opportunities and maintain
accurate records in CRM.
- Possibly
attend occasional trade shows in Canada and US to demonstrate the tool
Required
qualifications/experience:
- Experience
in presales support (lead generation and/or lead qualification).
- Solid
research and communication abilities
- Articulate,
persuasive and detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated,
solid work ethic and results-oriented
- Time-management,
customer service and organizational skills
Desirable
experience:
- Experience
selling SaaS based solutions to government sector
- Experience
with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Experience
with Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox.
- Experience
in the tech, public, or nonprofit sectors.
- Interest
in civic technology, open government, democracy.
- Passionate
about our mission and sector
Contract
details:
Part-time contract
(20 hours weekly) with a gross yearly salary of CAD$20,000. Hours can be set
fairly independently, within set timeframes of normal business hours.
