Job
Description:
The
overall purpose of the Data Analyst, Impact Reporting position is to
systematically source, aggregate and analyze child well-being and impact data
from various funding sources to be used by internal teams to develop
communication products for our sponsors, donors, key stakeholders and the
Canadian public. The Data Analyst supports the core mandate of Evidence &
Impact Unit to develop and maintain a Strategic framework for child well-being
and impact reporting, to showcase how our work improves the lives of children,
their families and their communities.
Specific
Duties/Accountabilities:
  • Supports
    the implementation of the Evidence & Impact Strategic Framework by
    aggregating child well-being data and other impact data through systematic
    reviews of program reports across all funding sources. This includes
    independently reviewing program reports as well as collaborating with
    teams to harness data already being collected.
  • Translate
    field documents or arrange for translation as required (i.e. French,
    Spanish, Portuguese). Provides ongoing guidance and support, and organizes
    the work of freelance data analysts who are contracted to support large
    and complex review processes as needed.
  • Responds
    to data requests by analyzing and interpreting complex data sets as well
    as creating data statements to be used for impact reporting to external
    stakeholders (e.g. impact and ‘Connecting with Communities’ websites,
    stewardship reports). Provide expert guidance and support to internal
    clients to ensure correct interpretation of the data. Produce Impact
    reports by analyzing key findings and trends for internal and external
    audiences.
  • Identifies
    process and system improvements for data sourcing, aggregation and
    analysis; develops efficient frameworks and aggregation tools in
    consultation with Program & Policy Department (Data contributors) and
    the Program Information Manager.
  • Supports
    World Vision International research projects and any other special
    projects as needed.
Job
Requirements:
University
degree in International Development or Social Sciences or related field –
emphasis on research, design, monitoring and evaluation (Design Monitoring and
Evaluation is an asset).
  • Minimum
    of 5 years experience working in non-profit organizations.
  • Excellent
    analytical and data management skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge
    and experience working with internationally accepted Results Based
    Management and DME frameworks.
  • Experience
    with data management and use of statistical software (Excel, SPSS),
    ability to engage in meta-analysis of program documents.
  • Proven
    ability to work well within a collaborative team; coaching and monitoring
    skills.
  • Organized,
    independent and self-starter with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent
    written and oral communication skills.
  • Fluency
    in French or Spanish an asset.
