The
Sustainable New Agri-Food Products & Productivity (SNAPP) Program is a
micro-grant program for northern Ontario agriculture producers and food or
beverage processors, communities, First Nations, businesses and collaborations.
The program is administered by the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, in
partnership with regional partners in Cochrane District, Sudbury and Dryden.

Duties: Reporting to the
regional Project Steering Committee member, the successful candidate will receive
part-time work experience for one-year marketing the SNAPP Program in their
respective region, as well as coordinating with partners in regions across
northern Ontario.

Responsibilities:
- Promotion
and marketing of the program to regional partners, associations, and
broader public - Promote
successful project applicants at regional events - Create
effective communications that promote the program, including press
releases and blog posts - Respond
to all program inquiries in a timely manner - Assist
with the development of program marketing materials when applicable - Responsible
to refer applicants to appropriate economic development agencies and
project staff - Liaise
with fellow regional project staff - Attend
regular meetings during the intake process - Data
collection and reporting for evaluating the project
Qualifications:
- Proven
leadership skills with the ability to work independently as well as part
of a team - Some
knowledge of food and agricultural production and processing necessary - Excellent
organization skills - Excellent
communication skills - Experience
with report writing and data collection considered an asset - Knowledge
of MS Office applications - Sound
record-keeping abilities - Experience
working in a not-for-profit organization considered an asset - Solid
understanding of food sustainability - Ability
to speak and correspond in French considered an asset - Access
to personal computer necessary in some areas.
Position
Type:
Contract, 12 months, approximately 25 hours per month with work being
concentrated in the spring and winter. Outreach Assistants will work in the
regional offices under the supervision of the regional organization. Some
travel required.

Salary: $25 per hour. This
position is partially funded by FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program
