delivery and evaluation of our PEI Wild Child Program.

• between
  15 and 30 years old;
• Post-secondary
  graduate and lacking experience in field of study OR grade 12 graduate who
  has determined a career goal;
• Out
  of school;
• Canadian
  citizen, permanent resident, or person who has refugee status;
• Legally
  entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial
  legislation and regulations; and
• Not
  in receipt of Employment Insurance benefits (upon approval/start date).

• contacting
  local child care facilities, after school programs and camps to arrange
  visits,
• presenting
  the program to interested groups, including new Canadians,
• guiding
  children, caregivers and adults on nature excursions,
• using
  and developing activities that educate the participants on many aspects of
  their local environments including conservation & ecology,
• engaging
  with the public via social and traditional media,
• contributing
  to blogs and press releases,
• fundraising
  and contributing to reports to potential funders,
• developing
  relationships with community partners,
• helping
  to increase the reach of the program through promotion and networking,
• completing
  program evaluation (surveying staff and children),
• completing
  project reports and wrap-up,
• coordinating
  and communicating with Sierra Club Wild Child Program Supervisor in NS,
• collecting,
  organizing, and maintaining documents (such as agreements with childcare
  facilities/organizations, contracts, liability forms, photos, and photo
  releases),
• creating,
  and contributing to informational databases (with guidance),
• procuring
  and maintaining materials and equipment,
• travelling
  within PEI to child care centres.

• Post-secondary
  training in one or more of the following areas: Early Childhood Education,
  Environmental Studies, Ecology, Biology, Geography, Education, Public
  relations, Media/Journalism Studies
• good
  written and oral skills
• experience
  with fundraising an asset
• familiarity
  with web and social media
• ability
  to work with volunteers
• organizational
  and time management skills
• basic
  scientific knowledge about ecological cycles, natural history, and native
  species
• ability
  to adapt and deliver presentations to a variety of ages and knowledge
  levels
• regular
  access to a reliable vehicle
• love
  of nature is a must!
