24 -year old woman stoned to death ‘by husband and his brother’ in brutal honour killing

A 24-year-old woman was reportedly stoned to death in a gruesome honor killing in Pakistan by her husband and his brother.

National Highway and Motorway Police found a mutilated body near Indus Highway on June 27 with serious head injuries. They were able to identify the body of Waziran who lived in the village of Wadda Chachar.

Local police suspect the woman in the Jamshoro attack was pelted with stones and repeatedly hit with a wooden stick.

Waziran’s grieving father, Gurl Muhammed, was seen weeping for justice beside her grave in a video shared online after the incident.

Police say the man initially stated that her death was an accident but later retracted his assertion, claiming that her husband Allah Baksh and his brother Kareem had killed her.

Both Allah Baksh and Kareem were arrested and remain in police custody.

Allah Baksh alleges in a statement that her own family was responsible for the stoning, because they did not approve of Waziran’s decision to marry him.

A three-man joint investigation team have been set up to investigate the incident which police are treating as honour killing.

Honor killing is defined as killing a relative, especially a girl or woman, who is perceived to have brought dishonor to the family and is common in Pakistan.
