Rwanda Senate president speaks on the success achieved with its government relations with Egypt

On Thursday, Rwandan Senate President Bernard Makuza highlighted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s initiatives in light of Egypt’s present African Union presidency, MENA said.
This happened during a meeting with Ali Abdel Aal, Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament

On the anniversary of the July 23 revolution, Makuza welcomed the Egyptian delegation and expressed appreciation for this visit, which was intended to boost parliamentary relations between the two African countries.

MENA revealed that Abdel Aal praised the success record of Rwanda in terms of good governance, expressing Egypt’s keen interest in enhancing collaboration with Rwanda in different areas.
Abdel Aal said that for months Egypt has been flying direct flights to Kigali, confirming powerful connections between the two nations.
On an official visit to Kigali, Abdel Aal leads a parliamentary delegation.
Abdel Aal toured the Memorial of the Kigali Genocide after the event and laid a wreath.
In January, Rwandan Ambassador Saleh Habimana met with Abdel Moneim al-Taras, Chair of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), to discuss cooperation on the sidelines of a visit to the organization by 40 African ambassadors.
Taras informed media that the Rwandan party expressed interest in concluding deals with Egypt on building materials, infrastructure, and exchange of raw materials.
The AOI will provide technical support in the renewable energy, infrastructure, water purification, wastewater, railcars, fire trucks, ambulances and electronics industries for Rwandan initiatives.
Habimana was the former Grand Mufti of Rwanda and is Egypt’s first ever ambassador to Rwanda. The choice was motivated by the need to expand ties between Egyptian and Rwandan.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry addressed African Union institutional reform files in Addis Ababa with his Rwandan counterpart Richard Sezibera.
That was on the sidelines of the preparatory conferences on November 14-18 for the extraordinary AU Summit.
