The
In-country Coordinator (Coordinator) will play a key role in helping
operationalize and coordinate the BD4Hi/DIP activities in Rwanda. The selected
Coordinator will work within the Ministry of Health, Rwanda Biomedical Center
(RBC) in collaboration with Vital Strategies, an international public health
non-governmental organization, and the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), a US government agency. The coordinator will be responsible
for ensuring all DIP activities are completed and information is adequately
disseminated.

implementation of a program of capacity building and technical assistance
activities that have been mutually agreed upon by the MOH, RBC, VS, and
CDC.

Job

- Serves
as BD4Hi/DIP’s primary point of contact and represents initiative at
multi-sectoral meetings, forums, etc. - Provides
assistance for all general administrative matters (e.g., making travel
arrangements, arranging meetings, ordering office supplies, booking
conference rooms). - Assists
with developing country-led data impact work plans with clear targets and
budgets related to country priorities in close collaboration with MOH and
initiative partners. - Coordinates
activities to ensure successful implementation of BD4Hi/DIP work plans
within Rwanda. - Provides
weekly updates to the MOH and DIP team on progress, challenges,
priorities, and recommendations regarding work plans and budgets. - Prepares
agendas and arranges in-person meetings, teleconferences, and/or
video-conferences. - Monitors
in-country DIP expenditures and ensures that all expenditures are made in
accordance with approved work plans and budgets, obtaining all required
approvals before expenditures are committed or made. - Assists
with other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications,
experience, and skills required:

- Based
in Rwanda and extensive knowledge of country. - Post-graduate
degree in public health, epidemiology, public policy, or related field. - Strong
personal interest in health or public health related topics. - Previous
experience managing complex, multi-party projects. - Expert
in coordinating logistics and activities for health programs. - Able
to work with minimum supervision - Demonstrated
ability to communicate effectively and work effectively with all
stakeholders in English and at least one local language. - Good
interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated
ability to meet deadlines, whilst working on tight schedules. - Demonstrated
ability to engage a variety of non-governmental and multi-lateral
organizations, government officials, and parastatal organizations. - Proficient
in Microsoft Office and other coordination and organization applications.

Coordinator’s base of operations is the Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC).
The initial consulting contract will be for 12 months, with an option for
subsequent renewal(s).
