Diabetes
mellitus is a disorder of glucose metabolism characterized by the alteration of
glucose or sugar level in the blood.
There are
three types of diabetes conditions which are:
i.           
Diabetes
type 1: This is also known as juvenile diabetes or insulin dependent diabetes.
This occurs as a result of viral infection or toxins. It could also be linked
to hereditary. To this care, the insulin producing cells of the pancreas are
destroyed. When this happens, the patient in seriously dependent on insulin.

ii.           
Diabetes
type 2: It is also known as adult onset diabetes or non-insulin dependent
diabetes, its causes are unknown but diet rich in sweet and refined products
and poor whole grain. As the name implies it can develop at any age, it most
commonly becomes apparent during adult. In this case, the body is not able to
use insulin the right way.
iii.           
Diabetes
type 3: This is gestational diabetes and mainly results from gestation. It
mainly occurs during pregnancy. It is common in woman with pregnancy.
Food to eliminate or reduce
Sugars: Affect
blood sugar level, elevate insulin level and your stress hormones.
Meat: Eating
a great deal of meat is associated with higher risk of diabetes. Refined baked
foods, saturated fat, chocolate, milk, honey, and alcoholic beverages and salt.
Dietary management
Today’s
dietary recommendation is one that is rich in complex carbohydrates (starch)
rich in fiber, lower in fact (particularly saturated animal fat) and low in
sugar.

A sample daily meal plan for the management of
diabetes mellitus should be taken into account the size, as well as physical
activity level. The following menu is tailored for someone who needs 1,200 to
1,600 calories a day.
·        
Breakfast:
2 slice of bread, top tea and Dano skim milk
·        
Lunch: 5
spoonful of rice, 10 spoons of beans, stew with beef, cucumber or garden egg.
·        
Vegetable
soup with dried fish and wheat.
