position;
Monitoring
and Evaluation Manager
Scope of the
job
The M&E Manager will be responsible for setting up a Sentebale M&E
system and guiding implementation; Strengthening Sentebale’s organizational/
programmatic capacity for effective monitoring, evaluation and monitoring, to
define the M&E vision and strategies; developing M&E frameworks and
tools, project cycle management, building capacity of staff and partners on
M&E; enhancing documentation, communication, and reporting and
representation of Sentebale in technical and strategic meetings.

Key
Responsibilities
- Setting
up and M&E System - Establish
an M&E system for the Botswana programme and contribute to the
development of tools based on lessons from the Lesotho office and our
strategic partner Baylor Botswana - Support
the development of annual work plans and budget with specific focus on
M&E and reporting activities - Develop
the framework for the M&E activities, annual programmatic reviews,
evaluation, process monitoring and workshops to share lessons learned - Facilitate
training on M&E related processes for relevant project and partner
staff - Contribute
to the annual review of Sentebale’s M&E system
M&E
Implementation
- Design
and implement the procedures for input, process, outcome and impact
monitoring and evaluation - Ensure
quality assurance - Guide
project staff and partner staff on preparing high quality reports - Advise
senior management on potential corrective/ preventive action to combat
significant irregularity in M&E - Prepare
regular M&E reports as agreed with senior management - Inform
the communications team of any ‘newsworthy’ information when applicable - Carry
out field visits - Work
collaboratively with the team to ensure reporting compliance internally
and to donors
Qualifications
and Competencies
- A
minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to development work or
health plus some professional training in M&E. - A
minimum of 5 years experience in a senior Monitoring and Evaluation
position in an NGO setting - Experience
in training - Strong
leadership skills - Ability
to multi task and work as part of a team - Good
communication and report writing skills - A
divers licence will be an added advantage
