Mandatory
qualifications/Professional registration

  • Appointment
    to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or
    membership with the appropriate registration authority or association
    within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be
    provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement
    of clinical duties.
  • All
    Registered Nurses employed in the Emergency Department are required to
    work a roster comprising of the 3 shifts across the 7 day week.
  • Expectation
    to have current competency in mandatory training requirements, including
    Basic Life Support, Fire Safety, Manual Handling and Aggression Behaviour
    Management.
  • A
    minimum of two years post registration in an acute setting.

West Moreton
Hospital and Health Service (WMHHS) comprises of four local government areas
Scenic Rim Regional Council, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Somerset Regional
Council and Ipswich City Council. Ipswich is the major city of the region. Esk,
Laidley, Gatton, Boonah and Wacol are townships spread throughout the service

The Clinical
Services Division brings together the acute, community and rural health
services of West Moreton Hospital and Health Service.
Clinical Services is made up of four Clinical Streams. Each Clinical Stream
brings together Service Lines and is a structure based on the needs of the
patient.
The Clinical Streams within Clinical Services includes:
•  Integrated Care
•  Coordinated Care
•  Ambulatory Care

The Integrated Care
Stream is inclusive of the Sub and Post-Acute Care Stream and the Acute Care
Stream, Boonah and Esk Hospital. The Acute Care Stream aligns the provision of
care to the needs of patients requiring essential hospital and health care
services. Acute care covers the intensive nature of acute care and has
organised interventions and treatment services that can only be provided in an
acute care hospital by specialised multi-disciplinary teams. The goals of acute
care are rapid access, speciality intervention and support, and stabilisation
to facilitate effective patient flow and access:
•  Intensive Care Unit
•  Emergency Department/ Adult Short Stay Unit
•  Coronary Care Unit, Acute Chest Pain Service and Heart Health Services
•  Central Patient Flow Unit
•  Nursing and Midwifery Resource Team
•  Acute Medical Unit
•  Nursing Informatics
•  Nursing Recruitment
•  Medical Imaging Nursing Services
