Participates with customers to formulate and implement battlespace,
organization and information exchange technology architectures. Work with
customers to help conceptualize means to apply information exchange technology
as a battlespace asset. Involved in the process of designing and delivering
integrated architectural and information solutions to support the battlespace
information exchange goals

The position is based in TIEO Fyshwick and reports directly to the
Operations Manager of the innovation centre

Your responsibilities will include (not limited to):

·        
Act
as lead Architect and manage the provision of Tactical Information Exchange
(TIE) Architecture products.
·        
Develop
and maintain an integrated TIE Architecture.
·        
Provide
assistance and guidance in determining ADF Information Exchange Requirements
(IERs).
·        
Develop
and maintain TIE Architecture plans, procedures and guidelines for the
management of TIE interoperability.
·        
Review
existing system based architectures captured by ADFTA.
Assist in the development of Information Exchange Requirement architectures for
the system protocols of the Multi-Tactical Data Link Network (MTN) and Ground
Network (GN).
·        
Link
the lower level system architectures to the high level Battlespace Information
Environment.
·        
Contribute
architectures to the Common Operating Picture.
You
will have skills and experience in:
·        
Must
have successfully conducted data capture and analysis activities using both
face to face and paper based methodologies.
·        
Must
have broad understanding of ADF concept of operations at the Operational and
Tactical level.
·        
Must
have broad knowledge of the MIL-STDs for Link 11, Link 16, Data Forwarding and
VMF and ability to critically analyse, interpret and apply these standards to
the development of architectures.
·        
Preferably
ex-Army operational experience.
·        
Preferably
CORE experience.
·        
Work
is performed without appreciable direction.
·        
Exercises
considerable latitude in determining architectural objectives and approaches to
assignment.
·        
Completed
work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.
·        
Applies
extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related
disciplines.
·        
Prime
architect contact on contract. Interacts with senior internal and external
personnel on significant architectural matters often requiring coordination
between organizations.
·        
Develops
architectural solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of
ingenuity and creativity.
