Jhpiego is
an international non-profit health organisation affiliated with the John
Hopkins University, Jhpiego develops innovations for enhancing capacity of
health care workers, strengthening, health, systems, and delivery of care
towards improving the health and well being of the people
Since 1999,
Jhpiego has been collaborating with the Govt of Malawi, ministry of Health
(MOH) and various partners in implementing a wide range of activities in
maternal health, family planning, and reproductive health, newborn and child
health, HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis, Cu

rrent key projects include the Support for
Services Delivery Integration – Services (SSDI-Services) and Maternal and Child
Health integrated Program (MCHIP) – Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC)

We are
currently recruiting an experienced individual with excellent organisational
skills who is a team player, dedicated, hardworking, innovative, highly
motivated and willing to work in a high pressure environment requiring
multitasking abilities
Reporting
to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for
coursing, negotiating, purchasing, liaising with the wide variety of
vendors/suppliers and the day to day implementation of the procurement systems
and procedures, S/he will work closely with the Procurement Manager to ensure
timely procurement and will proactively identify gaps and make suggestions for
improvement, The position will be based in Lilongwe
Source for
quotations and negotiate for prices, terms, delivery and after sale services
with vendors, Prepare basis for vendor selection and other related documents
and forward for approval of procurement, Raise LPOs and forward to
vendors/suppliers, Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods
and services, work with Jhpiego staff to determine specifications for goods and
services, Maintain/update and implement procurement systems and records as
necessary, Assist in coordinating with Jhiego head office staff on approvals,
shipments, clearing and deliveries to the office, Participate in evaluating,
appraising and selecting pre-qualified suppliers/vendors
University
Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, diploma in Purchasing and
supply Management (CIPS preferred), Minimum of 2 yrs relevant experience (experience
in USAID-funded international organisations an added advantage), Member of a
professional supplies management body e.g. CIPS, Good understanding of USAID
rules and regulations, Computer skills including demonstrated hands
on-experience with MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel, Excellent
interpersonal and communications kills, Be of  high
integrity and have a sense of confidentiality
