Main
Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum of  Diploma in Agriculture, Rural Livelihoods/Development,
Environmental Management; Natural Resources Management; Climate Change
management  or related disciplines,

At least 3 years working experience of which 1 should be in agriculture/food
and livelihoods security or natural resources management programme.

A good understanding of project cycle management approaches and tools –
including Participatory Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment and Planning,
project appraisal, monitoring and evaluation and partners’ capacity
building, 

A valid Motorcycle driving license is a MUST

Experience and knowledge in the design and implementation of food and
livelihoods security, climate change resilience/environmental
management/natural resources management projects for individuals or groups,
especially smallholder farmers,

Competence in research skills, data analysis and reporting. 

Good knowledge and understanding of key aspects of development work; including
climate change, environment, natural resources management and sustainable
agriculture

Skills in training/facilitation of development processes, including
organisation and mobilization of communities and networking among different
development partners such as community-based organisations (CBOs), governments
and partner staff.

High level skills and experience in planning, budgeting and writing management
and financial reports to donors.

Commitment to international and humanitarian NGO codes, standards and practices

High level integrity and high standards of personal conduct.

Strong communication skills ,  excellent verbal and writing skills with
solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, power point and email. 

A strong commitment to the aims, objectives and values of the COOPI Malawi
Country Programme.

Participate actively in reporting, proposal writing and target plan / target
revision

Collect data process and make them available to his/her supervisor 

Represent COOPI at request of his/her supervisor

Conduct training, sensitization, field supervision and other activities
contemplated in the project document

Conduct trainings on tree nurseries and timber seed multiplication groups

Supervise tree nurseries and woodlots in all targeted areas under DISCOVER
project in Salima

Facilitate establishment of Natural Resource Based Enterprises – NRBE groups i.e.
mushroom groups and beekeeping clubs 

Train Natural Resource Based Enterprises – NRBE

Monitor all Natural Resource Based Enterprises activities

Facilitate participatory forest resource assessment at village level.

Facilitate development of Village Forest Management Plans at village level

Facilitate establishment of Village Forest Area Committees at village level and
Village Natural Resource Management Committees at GVH level

Any other duties as assigned by the Program Manager
